Life can feel like a Jenga tower sometimes, right? You’re carefully building, making progress, and then—bam!—one wrong move, and everything comes crashing down. We’ve all been there: lost jobs, broken relationships, health scares, or just those moments when it feels like the universe is playing a cruel joke. In those moments, it’s easy to feel abandoned, like God has turned His back. But what if I told you that even in the midst of the chaos, He’s closer than you think?

Think about Job. This guy had it all: wealth, family, respect. Then, in what seems like the blink of an eye, he lost everything. His livestock was stolen, his children died, and he was afflicted with painful sores. His friends told him he must have done something wrong to deserve such suffering, but Job, despite his pain, refused to curse God. “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him” (Job 13:15). Job’s story isn’t just an ancient tale; it’s a powerful reminder that our faith isn’t contingent on our circumstances. Even when we can’t see it, God is working behind the scenes, refining us, and preparing us for something greater.

The truth is, obedience to God isn’t always easy or comfortable. It often requires us to step outside our comfort zones, to trust even when we don’t understand. But here’s the secret: obedience is an honor and a reward in itself. It’s an act of worship, a declaration that we trust God’s plan for our lives, even when that plan looks nothing like what we imagined. In those moments of downfall, when it feels like everything is falling apart, remember that God is the ultimate anchor. Cling to Him, trust in His unfailing love, and know that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
